High and Dry Skylight Flashing FCM/VCM/VCS
Product Description
Product features
This range of custom base flashings is made to suit the VELUX FCM, VCM, VCS range of skylights.
Velux’s most adaptable skylight range is the Fcm! The Fcm range can be installed on roofs with a pitch range of 1 degree to 60 degrees, and it can be installed in both portrait and landscape orientation with our custom flashings. High and Dry Skylight Flashings will give you leak-proof and elegant integration with the roof cladding when used in conjunction with the proper installation techniques.
Why do I need a custom base flashing?
A flashing is required to integrate your flashing to your roof cladding. It is a thin sheet of metal that joins a skylight to the roof, ensuring a watertight finish that drains the water away from the roof opening. Velux does not make a flashing for the FCM range of skylights but these are available through High and Dry Skylights.
Can I customise the flashing?
Yes, if you have a specific measurements for your skylight flashings please email them to Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au
Pre-Fabricated or Flat Pack?
High and Dry Skylights prefabricated flashings are the perfect option for West Australian and metropolitan customers as they allow immediate installation of the skylight straight on to the roof, saving valuable time and effort during the installation process. As High and Dry Skylights are one of the few West Australian companies specialising in Skylight installations and flashings, we can also offer significant cost reductions by avoiding significant shipping costs. We are also able to offer installation to our Perth and surrounding suburbs customers.
Will the Flashing Fit my Roof?
High and Dry Skylight Flashings are individually made to suit all roof types, including corrugated, True Oak, trim deck, clip lock, tile roof, and concrete hob. If you have a unique requirement please let us know via email: Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au. We are also able to offer installation of skylights using our customised flashings.
Do I need a Drypan Flashing?
Dry pan or back tray flashings as they are also known; are required on all roofs below 15 degrees. They are also recommended on all other pitched roofs for skylights that are installed within a metre down from the ridge cap. They function by keeping rainwater on top of the roof sheets and diverting it down either side of the skylight away from the opening.
What Materials are High and Dry Skylight Flashings made from?
High and Dry Skylight Flashings are made from genuine Colourbond steel with a 0.55mm base metal thickness. BEWARE of imitations; some suppliers use zinc flashings and then paint or powdercoat them to match the roof colour. This method invariably fades over time leaving you with a less than desired colour mismatch. Our FCM range of base flashings are available in a range of colours and models to suit your function and price. Contact us at Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au for more information.
