High and Dry Skylight Flashings for a Pitched Roof
This range of High and Dry Skylight Flashings are designed to suit the VELUX FS, VS, VSE, and VSS skylights for pitched roofs.
Important Information
High and Dry Skylight Flashings for pitched roofs are suitable for metal roofs with a pitch greater than 15 degrees. For roofs below 15 degrees, consider the following options:
Pitch Adaptor Flashing: Select the 0-15 degrees option for either corrugated or metal deck under “type of roof”.
Flat Roof Base Flashing and Skylight: Combine a flat roof base flashing with a VELUX flat roof skylight.
For installations into a pitched TILE roof, select the tile option under “type of roof”—this is a VELUX product and the only available flashing option.
Our custom base flashings ensure proper installation of VELUX skylights, providing a perfect fit with your roof profile. High and Dry Skylight Flashings will give you leak-proof and elegant integration with the roof cladding when used in conjunction with the proper installation techniques. They ensure a seamless, secure connection between the skylight and the roof, effectively preventing water leaks and safeguarding your home against water damage.
Why Do I Need a Custome Base Flashing?
A flashing is required to integrate your flashing to your roof cladding. It is a thin sheet of metal that joins a skylight to the roof, ensuring a watertight finish that drains the water away from the roof opening. Velux does not make a flashing for the FCM range of skylights but these are available through High and Dry Skylights.
Can I Customise the Flashing?
Yes, if you have specific measurements for your custom base, please email your drawings to Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au.
Pre-Fabricated or Flat Pack?
Pre-Fabricated Solution: This option minimises installation complexity, providing a leak-proof seal and a perfect fit with minimal effort. It comes ready to install directly out of the box, saving valuable time on the job site.
Flat Pack Solution: Ideal for those who prefer a hands-on approach, this option includes all necessary components in a compact package, making it a more economical shipping option for interstate customers. While it requires more time to assemble, it offers cost savings on both the product and shipping.
Will the Flashing fit my Roof?
High and Dry Skylight Flashings are individually made to suit all roof types, including corrugated, True Oak, trim deck, clip lock, tile roof, and concrete hob. If you have a unique requirement please let us know via email: Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au. We are also able to offer installation of skylights using our customised flashings.
Do I need a Dry Pan Flashing?
Dry pan or back tray flashings as they are also known; are required on all roofs below 15 degrees. They are also recommended on all other pitched roofs for skylights that are installed within a metre down from the ridge cap. They function by keeping rainwater on top of the roof sheets and diverting it down either side of the skylight away from the opening.
What Materials are our flashings made from?
High and Dry Skylight Flashings are made from genuine Colourbond steel with a 0.55mm base metal thickness. BEWARE of imitations; some suppliers use zinc flashings and then paint or powdercoat them to match the roof colour. This method invariably fades over time leaving you with a less than desired colour mismatch. Our FCM range of base flashings are available in a range of colours and models to suit your function and price. Contact us at Alastair@highanddryskylights.com.au for more information.
